Yeah, that's an interesting point of view. Doctors tend to have a very linear approach to diagnosis. They hear and examine the patient, then match the symptoms presented to whatever diagnosis seems more likely. My endocrinologist was the first one to point out I was gaining weight, but since I have Hashimoto's disease, the first thing he suspected was myxedema. When I told him I went to a vascular doctor and got diagnosed with lipedema, he didn't know what it was, and I asked him if he could learn about it and refer me to surgery, but he refused. He's one of the top endocrinologists in LA, so I was pretty upset.

My liver enzymes were very altered, in a bad way. Even my albumin was low.

And yes, sugar (as all carbs) should be avoided in lipedema (goes back to insulin resistance like you mentioned).
